Agreement with Oxfam to work in Recovery and Reconstruction in Kathmandu and Lalitpur districts

Oxfam and DEPROSC have agreed to extend Nepal Earthquake Recovery and Reconstruction Program for 9 months (April 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017). This program will be implemented in 2 municipalities Daxinkali and Nagarjun of Kathmandu and 3 rural municipalities Konjyosom, Bagmati and Mahankal and 1 municipality Godawari of Lalitpur districts covering 7500 people approximately 2170 HHs.

DEPROSC will be involved in livelihood and housing recovery and reconstruction program. The major activities in livelihood involves construction/technical support to repair/reconstruction of irrigation canal and agriculture structure, training and input support to agriculture farmers/coffee/vegetable production, promotion of improved kitchen garden, orientation and support to cattle shed improvement, orientation and support to poultry, training and insurance grant support to farmers, animal health and soil testing campaign, training and input support to establish agroforestry and orientation on women right and gender analysis of the programme. Similarly, the activities on housing includes community level orientation and awareness, technical supervision to households using online and manual system, technical helpdesk and resource center establishment, mason training, supply chain assessment and management and training and support to alternative construction materials.
