ISCL Project was a bilateral and technical cooperation project of Ministry of Labor and Transport Management (HMG/N) and German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) being implemented to assist the government of Nepal to set up structures, develop strategies and concepts and implement programs to reduce child labor and improve development chances for working/non-school children in Nepal.
Sindhupalchok District (Marming, Gati, Barhabise, Ghumthang, Maneshawanra, Listikot, Phulpingkot, Dhuskun, Karthali and Tatopani VDCs)

- 52 child clubs were formed and actively operated which benefited 2181 children including 48% girls. All child clubs have been registered in District Child Welfare Committee (DCWC), Sindhupalchok.
- 21 Day Care Centers (DCCs) were established. It benefited 1268 children including 50% girls during project period.
- 9 School Outreach Center were established, the approved NFE programme of HMG designed to provide education in respective community.
- 23 Out of School (Non formal Education) were operated for the period of nine months. 452 children out of 612 who attended OSC were enrolled in school.
- 121 out of school working children were provided scholarships and 1200 children were supported with basic stationary for their education.
- 79 production groups have been formed covering 2101 members. 1565 maintained kitchen garden in their houses. Vegetables produced were consumed at household level and sold in market too. 76 goats and 10 piglets were supported under livestock exchange programme. It supplemented nutrition requirement of targeted beneficiaries and provided them an alternative source of income.
- Numbers of out of school / working children have decreased significantly.
- The gender gap prevalent in the working VDCs have been decreased considerably.
Overall awareness and concern on child right, education, and other child relate issues have been increased among community peoples, parents, and local line agencies.
