World Vision International (WVI) and DEPROSC enter an agreement for early recovery program

DEPROSC-Nepal and World Vision International have entered into an agreement on 1st April 2016 to implement “Social Protection Cash Transfer Project” in 4 earthquake affected districts (Gorkha, Nuwakot, Sindhupalchok, and Dhading). The early recovery program aims to increase the most vulnerable communities’ access to basic necessities and/or services such as food, shelter, water, medicine, and livelihood assets through cash transfer. In addition, it also aims to enhance knowledge of beneficiaries on issues that affect their well-being through training.

1500 beneficiaries from each working district will be supported through cash transfer with an amount accounting 75%of the average minimum expenditure basket advised by the Cash Coordination Group (CCG) for a period of 5 months for the early recovery of targeted beneficiaries. The program will directly benefit 6000 families (approximately 30,000 population).
