Ms. Saraswati Basnet, an active participant of the financial literacy and psychosocial counseling class of last fiscal year. She lives in Biratnagar Metropolitan City-3, Morang with her two children. Her husband stayed in Kuwait for five years. She suffered a big financial crisis when her husband did not receive any salary during the COVID pandemic. Since then, she was searching for a regular income for her family. When, she participated in a FL class, she realized the importance of her own skills about tailoring which can be used easily at home. She talked to her husband and opened a tailoring shop with an investment of Rs. 25,000 from her savings and Rs. 75000 borrowing from Nepal Bank at 13% interest rate. Now, she is earning enough money to pay the loan as well as cover household expenditures. She has also started keeping records of income and expenditure. She has started saving Rs. 10,000 to 15,000 per month in a local cooperative.
