Livelihood Improvement Programme
DEPROSC-Nepal implemented ‘Livelihood Improvement Programme’ in the eastern nine VDCs of Lamjung district from 2002 to December 2007 for improving the livelihood of the people living in rural areas. The project targeted ultra-poor with less than 0.5 hectares of land, food sufficiency for less than 9 months, Dalit, Janjati and socially discriminated people, poor woman and other vulnerable group marginalized. The project had four components: Social Mobilization, Physical Infrastructure, Economic Promotion and Strengthening Local Service Providers.

| Achievements | Ten cooperatives and 29 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) were formed, developed and strengthened. 800 SHGs/members were supported through kitchen garden, bee keeping, forestry, NTFP, micro-enterprises and livestock support. 120 goats were distributed, 125 were exchanged during this period. 7.88 Ha. land is used under agro-forestry plantation. 538 members were benefited from those trainings and workshops. Rs. 2,92,66,832.00 was collected from the SCG members as savings and mobilized that amount as loan accounting NRs. 2,17,71,506.00. 1872 households were served for their livelihood improvement. |
