Assistance for Vulnerable population affected by conflict and high food prices in Nepal (PRRO)
DEPROSC-Nepal implemented WFP assisted PRRO in the 10 selected VDCs — Hariharpur Gadhi, Pipalmadhi, Mahendrajhyadi, Kapilakot, Santeswori, Netrakali, Tamajor, Bastipur, Amale and Bhadrakali of Sindhuli district covering around 70% of the population.

| Achievements | A total of 1,051.34 MT of food commodities to 5,841 HHs affected by soaring food prices, conflict, drought and disasters were supported that creating 40 days of employment for the selected households. The project successfully completed 96 schemes across 10 VDCs of Sindhuli district: 29 irrigation canals, 16 agricultural land improvements, 10 agriculture roads, 7 plantations, 6 water-harvesting ponds, 4 mule trails, 4 multiple water-use systems, 3 river-banking works, 1 community facility center, and 13 livelihood trainings. A total of 12 livelihood trainings were conducted on themes such as goat and swine raising, vegetable cultivation, beekeeping and fruit cultivation. The project gave socially marginalized groups, including Dalits and women, the opportunity to take part in FFW/FFT within their own vicinity and farmland. The project reached 5,841 beneficiaries directly and 35,045 indirectly. For each day (8 hours) of labor-intensive work and follow-up activities, over 40 days, each beneficiary received 4 kg of rice and 0.5 kg of pulses. |
