32nd Birthday and Public Audit

DEPROSC-Nepal celebrated its 32nd Birthday and Public Audit amidst a grand function on November 26, 2026 in its central office, Thapathali, Kathmandu.

Mr. Manoj Bhatta, Member Secretary of Social Welfare Council, graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest. His remarks were that non-government organizations in Nepal, in one way or the other, should contribute to increase the per capita income of Nepalese, that is at very low level compared to many countries in the world. He was happy that DEPROSC-Nepal, will operate and serve even if there is no external fund.

The event was attended by distinguished personalities like Mr. Shankar Man Shrestha, Chair of Swabalamban Bikas Kendra, Economist Dr. Rewat Bahadur Karki, Chairperson of ward 11 of Kathmandu Metropolis Mr. Hiralal Tandukar, representative from Kathmandu metropolis, representatives from Helvetas-Nepal and Practical Action, members of DEPROSC-Nepal, media persons and staffs.

In the occasion, DEPROSC-Nepal informed the participants that it has served around 600,000 families in 69 districts through 97 projects in partnership with government and 37 donor agencies in Nepal. It has facilitated to create/rehabilitate 8069 community assets like school building, irrigation facilities, drinking water schemes, suspended bridges in these 31 years. It has also promoted Deprosc MFI and Nadep MFI, which are operated at national level serving around 300,000 clients with the exposure of 27 billion loan portfolio.

The organization also shared its policies, approaches, programs and funds during the public audit event. Inquiries made by stakeholders were responded by DEPROSC-Nepal officials.

At a separate event on the same day, which is also a DEPROSC-Nepal establishment day, the organization successfully organized the 31st Annual General Assembly, which concluded electing a new Executive Committee for a term of two years under the Chairpersonship of Mr. Shiva Prasad Devkota, one of the founders of DEPROSC-Nepal. The newly elected Chairperson has said that his BoD’s first priority is to review the national context and prepare DEPROSC-Nepal’s next strategic plan.
