DRR and Humanitarian Response Project
The strategic partnership between Plan International Nepal and Development Project Service
Center Nepal (DEPROSC-Nepal) aims to integrate Disaster Risk Management (DRM) and
Humanitarian Response into Plan International Nepal’s child-centric programs. The partnership
builds on a strategic collaboration between Plan International Nepal and DEPROSC-Nepal to
strengthen DRM and Humanitarian collaboration in Nepal. The key objective is to strengthen the
capacity of Plan International Nepal’s implementing partners to integrate disaster risk
management, humanitarian preparedness and Forecast-based Action (FbA) into their
organizational systems and policies through effective application of the Partners in Emergency
(PiE) Manual. Further, it will focus to enhance partners’ readiness by testing disaster
preparedness plans, coordination mechanisms, and resources through context-specific multi-
hazard simulation and drill exercises. The major activities in this contract are:
· Capacity building on the DRM and Partners in Emergency (PaiE) Manual
· Simulations and drills
· Development of Anticipatory Action (AA) policies
· Provincial multi-stakeholder workshops

| Achievements | Till date, two trainings have been completed. The first was a refresher training on the Partnership in Emergency Manual (PaiE), focusing on implementing partners from the eastern region. A total of five partners from Dhanusha and three partners from Sinduli participated in the training. The training aimed to: Refresh knowledge on contextualized Emergency Response Mechanisms (ERM) Explore the current status of partner organizations in aligning with PaiE Support the preparation of action plans for integrating PaiE into organizational policies and documents The second was a two-day training on Disaster Risk Management (DRM) and the Partnership in Emergency Manual (PaiE), focusing on five implementing partners from Siraha, Saptari, Sarlahi, and Rautahat districts. The training focused on: Strengthening understanding of DRM concepts, frameworks, and approaches Internalizing government policies and processes related to preparedness, anticipatory action (AA), and response Familiarizing participants with Plan’s DRM policies, including ERM and PaiE Initiating exercises on organizational policy development and revision from the perspective of the PaiE manual |
