Donor CECI Start date October 2001 End date July 2007 Project Districts Bara, Jhapa, Rautahat, Parsa, Sarlahi, Morang Achievements During the project period, a total of 2548 Shallow Tube Wells (STWs) (547 in Rautahat, 401 in Parsa, 1230 in Bara, 179 in Sarlahi, 44 in Morang and 148 in Jhapa) have been installed and handed over to the WUGs.
During this period (FY 2006/07), a total of 491 STWs were installed against the target of 1000 (49.5% progress). Average no. of STW installed per SPFT is 13.8 and per staff is 6.9 STWs. Demand for additional 145 STWs groups (118 in Bara, 9 in Morang and 18 in Jhapa districts respectively) have been collected.
