DEPROSC-Nepal marks its 32nd AGM

DEPROSC-Nepal convened its 32nd Annual General Meeting on September 18, 2026, at its central office premises in Thapathali, Kathmandu.

Mr. Hiralal Tandukar, Ward Chairperson of Kathmandu Metropolitan City–11, attended the event as Chief Guest. In his remarks, he noted that among the thousands of non-governmental organizations operating in Nepal, DEPROSC-Nepal stands out for its distinct approach and tangible progress. He expressed his delight in learning about the organization’s achievements and strategic direction.
Mr. Madan Prasad Nepal, former Director of the Social Welfare Council, emphasized DEPROSC-Nepal’s credibility among donor agencies and the communities it serves. He congratulated the organization on reaching a sustainable stage and commended its leadership for making strategic decisions that have shaped its growth.

The event was graced by other distinguished personalities, including economist Dr. Rewat Bahadur Karki, academicians, DEPROSC-Nepal members, media representatives, and staff. Dr. Karki provided insights into Nepal’s financial landscape and shared recommendations from his committee aimed at strengthening financial services within banks and financial institutions.
On the occasion, DEPROSC-Nepal shared that it has reached approximately 2 million people across 69 districts through 97 projects, implemented in collaboration with the government and 37 donor agencies. Over the past 32 years, the organization has facilitated the creation or rehabilitation of 8,095 community assets, including school buildings, irrigation systems, drinking water schemes, and suspension bridges. It has also promoted two nationally operating microfinance institutions—Deprosc MFI and Nadep MFI—which collectively serve around 300,000 individuals with a loan portfolio of NPR 30 billion.

The 32nd Annual General Assembly was chaired by Mr. Shiva Prasad Devkota, Chairperson of DEPROSC-Nepal. The AGM formally endorsed the Annual Report presented by Mr. Devkota and Audit Report presented by Treasurer Dr. Nirmala Devi Bhatt.
