BACKGROUND
The Knowledge-based Integrated Sustainable Agriculture in Nepal (KISAN)
II Project is a USAID funded five-year second phase of the USAID Feed
the Future (FTF) initiative in Nepal. KISAN II aims to increase resilience,
inclusiveness, and sustainability of income growth in the FTF zone of
influence. The project is implemented by Winrock International in
collaboration with five other Nepali and US organizations: CEAPRED, DEPROSC,
Digital Green, Siddhartha Inc., and Overseas Strategic Consulting (OSC).
POSITION DESCRIPTION
KISAN II’s approach begins with the identification of constraints
within key market systems and then addressing those constraints through project
partners and initiatives. At the core of the KISAN II private sector-led
facilitative approach is promoting the business case for buyers,
intermediaries, and service providers to improve their business outcomes
through more substantial engagement with producers and other value chain
actors. KISAN engages partners across components, holistically supporting
market system development by addressing issues related to marketing and
business capacity (Component 2), farm-level productivity (Component 1), the
enabling environment (Component 3), support for resiliency and integration of
poor, marginalized populations (Component 4), and adaptive management
(Component 5) to ensure maximum impact. KISAN II works in twenty-five Hill and
Terai districts in the province number 3, 5, 6 and 7 of the country. KISAN II
is hiring 2 short term consultants to work as resource person for Training to
Master Trainers (MTOT).
KISAN II component 4 aims to increase the ability of vulnerable communities so that they better act on business opportunities around them and particularly within selected market systems. This component will enhance the literacy and business skills through a number of community trainings. The project requires 2 Resource Persons for Training to Master Trainers (MTOT) on literacy, numeracy and nutrition modules. Specific responsibilities of the Translator will be:
TENURE
- Read KISAN II training materials particularly Module 1 & Module 2 and get prepared for a briefing meeting,
- Get a briefing from KISAN II Component 4 team,
- Attend a working meeting at KISAN II to discuss on schedule, training methodologies, participant types and other facilitators to co-work,
- Prepare a detail plan to deliver the module contents with Curriculum Development Manager and Training Manager,
- Finalize the detail plan as per feedback from senior level,
- Facilitate the training in a team,
- Prepare a report on relevance of training contents, methodologies and recommendations for similar event in future.
This contract remains valid for the month of October 2019, however, the resource person will be involved only for 10 days including preparation, training and reporting.

job portal. Interested candidates should drop an application letter citing his/her
prior experience, fee history within 3 years, and certification from similar
work earlier, proposed rate per day for 10 effective days and other conditions,
