Vacancy for short term Consultant

POSITION TITLE:       Consultant – Curriculum Development

BACKGROUND
KISAN II has been operating in twenty-five Hill and Terai districts in districts in Bagmati, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. The project’s overall goal is to increase resilience, inclusiveness and sustainability of income growth through agriculture development. KISAN II works with the private sector such as lead firms, input suppliers, wholesalers and traders, and millers to catalyze agricultural productivity, competitive market systems, a stronger enabling business environment, and business and literacy skills.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
KISAN II component 4 aims to increase the ability of vulnerable communities so that they better act on business opportunities around them and particularly within selected market systems. This component has been enhancing the literacy and business skills through thousands of community trainings. The project requires a ‘Consultant – Curriculum Development’ who is able to revise existing training modules (particularly business development) as per project learnings and requirements. In addition, the consultant will contribute in fitting the contents as per project branding and marking. The consultant should agree to work under ‘Fixed Price Service Agreement’.

Specific responsibilities of the Consultant will be:

  1. Get briefing from Component 4 lead and other key staffs,
  2. Revise 13 chapters of Module 6 (Business Development) as per project learnings,
  3. Revise M6 guidelines as per revised version of Module 6,
  4. Complete branding and marking for English versions of 6 (Module 1-6) BLP modules,
  5. Coordinate with artist, as required,
  6. Submit the page-maker version, PDF and branding files of deliverable 2,3 and 4.

Deliverables 2 and 3 should be prepared in Nepali language whereas deliverables 4 should be prepared in English.

The applicant will submit an application letter citing his/her prior experience, reference or certification from similar work earlier, proposed rate per effective day, other conditions if any. DEPROSC will shortlist and inform only the shortlisted candidates for further selection, which will include a brief practical session.

At the completion of selection process, a contract will be signed between DEPROSC/KISAN II and Consultant, citing timeline for order, advance, delivery and other conditions. KISAN II will require the consultancy for 20 effective days but the time span may take around 2 months. KISAN II intends to start the work as soon as possible.
