Established DEPROSC-Nepal with little ambition, remarkable dedication and determination.
Implemented first project with 20 adult literacy classes in Surkhet and Sindhupalchok.
Implemented its first microfinance project in Rautahat district with the limited banking license from the Central Bank.
The microfinance program started from Rautahat in 1995 expanded to 11 other districts, namely; Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Bara, Parsa, Makwanpur, Dhading, Nuwakot, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur.
In addition to CBED project, start-up of CBIG in Rasuwa, MARD and EEOW in Nuwakot, Microfinance program in Morang.
Started two major long term Community based Natural Resource Conservation and Leasehold Forestry Project with GTZ (GIZ) and Community based Economic Development Project (CBED) with CIDA/CECI.
Central Bank of Nepal provided approval to work as a financial intermediary (FINGO) as per Financial Intermediary Act 1999. DEPROSC-Nepal, then launched direct lending adopting grameen model of microfinance in Nepal.
Established DEPROSC Microfinance Development Bank and regional office in Nepalgunj. Intervened in Natural Resource Management with WUPAP project, implemented in two phases till 2009. Collaborated with Helvetas/DDC for Bridge Building at Local Level and the partnership is still going on
2003-2008 Reached 172,030 food insecure families (830,786 population) with food for work and food for training mobilizing over 34,580 metric tons of food mainly in Western Nepal in partnership with WFP. It also, served to restore basic education and health services with support from UNICEF.
2003 – 2010 Partner of UN WFP to implement Food for work, Cash for work and logistic partner of WFP to handling commodity transportation in the entire mid-west region.
2008-2009 Served Koshi flood victims, diarrhoea affected communities in Jajarkot with basic humanitarian assistance.
Piloted Community based Micro Health Insurance program in Dhading district
Performed a prime contractor of USAID to implement USAID’s BLP in 20 western districts of Nepal reaching out to 48,000 participants.
2015-2016 Implemented earthquake response activities and programs (emergency food security, livelihood, Cash transfer programs etc.) in Gorkha, Sindhupalchok, Nuwakot, Dolakha, and Kathmandu valley.
Established NADEP Microfinance Financial Institution and handed over its microfinance portfolio to NADEP with 49862 members, NRs. 1,200,122, 986 loan and NRs. 491,533,353 savings.
Celebrated 25 Anniversary of DEPROSC Nepal.
